Vaníliás kifli / Vanillakipferl

Szintén egy klasszikus karácsonyi darab, amit most készítettem először.

15 dkg margarin
20 dkg liszt
7,5 dkg porcukor
1 tojás sárgája
késhegynyi vaníliapaszta
10 dkg darált mandula ( vagy dió, mogyoró)
1/2 tk. sütőpor
1/2 citrom reszelt héja és 1/4 citrom kifacsart leve

A beforgatáshoz:
60 gr vaníliás porcukor

Elkészítés:
1. A hozzávalókat összegyúrjuk, folpackba csomagolva 1 órára hűtőbe tesszük.
2. A tésztából kb. 1 cm átmérőjű hengert sodrunk, amit kb. 4 cm hosszú rudacskákra vágunk. A rudakat kisodorjuk, meghajlítjuk C alakban és sütőpapíros tepsire sorakoztatjuk őket.
3. 170 fokra előmelegített sütőben 10-12 perc alatt készre sütjük őket.

Recipe in English:
However Germans and Austrians do the same I still think this is a special Hungarian Christmas cookie. So easy and quick to make and you cannot stop eating them.
The most important thing is the vanilla powdered sugar-unfortunately even in big supermarkets you cannot find them, you should try in Polish or other Eastern European shops. If you get vanilla caster sugar you need to ground as you will need very fine and very strong vanilla flavour icing sugar.
Alternatively you can make your own one by putting a vanilla pod in a jar of icing sugar.

Ingredients:
150g butter, unsalted
200g plain flour
75g icing sugar
1 egg yolk
few drops of vanilla paste or essence
100g ground almond ( or hazelnuts/ walnuts )
1/2 tsp baking powder
grated zest of 1/2 lemon and juice of 1/4 lemon

60 gr vanilla icing sugar for dusting

Method:
1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and knead until it forms a ball. Wrap in cling film and put in the fridge for an 1 hour to chill.
2.On a lightly floured surface make a 1 cm diameter roll of the dough and cut into 4 cm long stripes. Shape each stripes into crescents and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
3. In 180 celsius preheated oven bake them for 10-12 mins.
4. While they are still warm, roll them in vanilla icing sugar. Transfer them into a metal box and try to save some for Christmas.:)
